This Cookie Policy explains how PDFRun.io uses cookies and similar technologies on pdfrun.io.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and how you use the site.
Essential Cookies (Required)
| Name | Description | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Tracks your file processing session and enforces rate limits | Session |
| CSRF token | Security cookie to prevent cross-site request forgery | Session |
| WordPress auth | Maintains your login session if you have an account | 14 days |
Analytics Cookies (Optional — only set after you consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage of our tools (which tools are popular, where errors occur). These analytics cookies are only set after you accept analytics cookies. Until you consent, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that sets no analytics cookie and collects no personal identifiers. If you decline, no analytics cookie is ever written and you can use every tool normally.
Consent is requested and recorded by a third-party consent management platform, which stores your choice and is the only place that choice is kept — PDFRun.io does not keep a separate copy. Where no consent platform is active on the site, no prompt is shown, analytics stays in the cookieless mode described above, and the analytics cookies listed below are not written.
| Name | Description | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes anonymous visitors (set only after consent) | 2 years |
| _ga_<container> | Google Analytics 4 — persists session state (set only after consent) | 2 years |
Advertising
Where advertising is shown, advertising storage and personalisation stay switched off until you consent through the consent management platform. Advertising consent is requested separately from analytics consent, and declining either does not affect your access to any tool.
How to Control Cookies
Consent is collected and stored by Google’s consent management platform, which is a Google-certified CMP. Where it shows you a consent message, a “Cookie preferences” control appears in the site footer and reopens that message so you can change or withdraw your choice at any time; withdrawing takes effect immediately. The control is only shown when there is a consent choice to change, so you will not see it in regions where no message is displayed. Analytics and advertising storage stay switched off unless you actively accept them, so nothing beyond essential storage is written by default. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent PDFRun.io from functioning correctly.
