At PDFRun, your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our PDF processing tools.

1. Information We Collect

Files You Upload

Files uploaded for processing are automatically deleted within 1 hour of processing. We do not read, analyse, store, sell or share the contents of your files.

Usage Data

We collect minimal anonymous usage data including: tool type used, approximate file size, processing status, and randomly-generated session identifiers not linked to your identity.

Account Data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect your email address. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process your PDF files and return results to you
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications)
  • To improve our tools and fix bugs

3. Data Retention

Uploaded files: deleted within 1 hour. Usage logs: retained up to 30 days in anonymised form. Account data: retained while your account is active, then deleted within 30 days of account closure.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Card details are entered on Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We do not use advertising networks or data brokers.

PDF processing. Files you upload for a server-side tool are sent to our PDF processing engine to perform the operation you requested, then deleted within 1 hour. Tools that offer browser mode can process the file entirely on your own device, in which case it is never uploaded at all.

AI features. A small number of features are AI-powered — currently the AI summarizer and the Resume Optimizer. For these, and only these, text extracted from your document is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the result. The document file itself is not sent to the AI provider. Because that text can contain personal information (a resume, for example, normally contains your name, contact details and employment history), please remove anything you do not want processed by a third party before using those tools. We do not control the AI provider’s own retention or training practices and make no commitments on their behalf; PDFRun itself does not use your documents to train models.

5. Your Rights
