Organise PDF pages
Pages are out of order, there's a duplicate buried at page 14, and the appendix needs to move to the back. You don't want to print, rescan, or rebuild the document from scratch.
Why this works
Our organise tool shows every page as a thumbnail. Drag to reorder, click to delete, and rotate any page that came in sideways — all in the browser, no install.
Page-level fixes are the kind of work that takes minutes if you have the right tool and hours if you don\'t. A document came back from a scanner with three pages in the wrong order; an appendix needs to move from the middle to the end; a duplicate page slipped in during merging; a page is rotated 90° because the scanner fed it sideways. None of these need a full document rebuild — they need a visual page-management interface where you can see every page at once and rearrange.
What the organise tool does, in one interface. Reorder by drag: drag any page thumbnail to a new position; surrounding pages slide to accommodate. Delete pages: click the × button on any thumbnail to remove that page from the output. Rotate pages: click the rotate button to fix sideways pages in 90° increments. Duplicate pages: optionally clone a page if you need it to appear twice (rare but occasionally useful). Insert from another PDF: drag in a second PDF\'s pages to merge them inline. Preview at any time: hover any thumbnail to see a larger preview before committing.
Common scenarios. Fixing sideways scans: a sheet-fed scanner often gets a few pages wrong-side-up; rotate them in-place rather than rescanning. Removing internal cover sheets: scanners and copy shops sometimes insert blank or marketing pages between documents; delete them in one click. Reordering merged documents: after merging multiple PDFs, you may notice the original upload order needs adjustment; reorder without re-merging. Removing duplicates: a page that appears twice (often from accidentally re-scanning a sheet) can be deleted with one click. Repositioning appendices: an appendix or table of contents needs to move to the front or back; drag it where it belongs.
What survives reordering. Form fields, signatures, OCR text layers, annotations — all preserved on the pages they\'re attached to. Internal hyperlinks between pages update automatically to point at the new page positions — a link from old page 3 to old page 17 still finds the same target page even if those pages are now at positions 1 and 14 in the reordered output.
What to know about page numbering. Visible page-number stamps that were printed onto the source pages stay with their pages (they\'re part of the page content). If you reorder pages 1-2-3-4-5 into 5-1-2-3-4, the visible numbers still read "5, 1, 2, 3, 4" because those numbers are part of the page imagery, not generated dynamically. To renumber visibly after reordering, run the output through the Page Numbers tool, which adds fresh sequential numbering on top of the existing content.
For very long documents (200+ pages), thumbnail loading takes longer because we render every page for the preview. Patience is rewarded — once loaded, drag-and-drop is fast. For purely structural changes that don\'t need visual inspection ("move pages 47-52 to the end"), Split + Merge is a faster two-step alternative.
Non-destructive workflow. Your original PDF is read but never modified — the organise tool produces a new output PDF reflecting your changes. The original stays where it was, in case you need to revert and try a different organisation. Both files auto-delete from our servers within one hour.
How it works
-
1Open the organise toolClick the orange button above to launch the visual page organiser. Every page renders as a draggable thumbnail.
-
2Upload your PDFDrop the file in. For documents over 100 pages, thumbnail loading takes 5–10 seconds; bear with it.
-
3Drag, delete, rotateReorder by dragging thumbnails, remove pages with the × button, rotate sideways pages with the ↻ button. Hover any thumbnail for a larger preview.
-
4Add pages from another PDF (optional)Drag in a second PDF to merge its pages inline at any position. Useful for combining your reordering pass with a small content addition.

5Download the cleaned PDFSave the new order. The original is untouched and auto-deleted from our servers within one hour.
Real-world uses
Anyone with a scanner
Fix sideways or out-of-order pages from auto-feed scans without rescanning the originals.
Project managers
Reorder appendices, exhibits, or sections after late-stage edits to a long report.
Legal teams
Remove duplicates and reorder exhibits before filing, without re-creating the document from source files.
Educators
Rearrange a scanned exam paper after realising question order is wrong, without re-scanning the whole packet.
Bookkeepers
Reorder a chronological-sort receipt batch after discovering one was filed out of order.
Authors
Move chapters in a manuscript PDF when the source file is no longer available and re-export from the original isn't feasible.
Common questions
Can I add pages from another PDF?
Yes — upload a second PDF and drag its pages into the main document at any position. Useful for combining a reordering pass with small content additions like a new cover page or appendix.
Is page reordering reversible?
Your original PDF is read but never modified — only the downloaded copy reflects your changes. If you need to start over, re-upload the original and try a different organisation.
Will visible page numbers update after reordering?
No — visible page-number stamps that were already printed onto pages stay with those pages. If pages 1-2-3 reorder to 3-1-2, the numbers still read 3, 1, 2 in that order. To renumber, run the output through the Page Numbers tool after organising.
Will form fields and signatures survive?
Yes. Form fields, signatures, OCR text layers, and annotations stay attached to their pages and travel along when you reorder.
Will hyperlinks between pages still work after reordering?
Yes — internal hyperlinks update automatically to point at the new page positions. A link from old page 3 to old page 17 still finds its target even if those pages are now at positions 1 and 14.
Can I undo the rotation of a page?
Yes — rotate the same page in the opposite direction or back to 0° reset. Rotation is non-destructive at the PDF-format level (we modify the page-rotation tag, not the underlying pixels) so it's freely reversible during the organise session.
How long does it take for a 200-page PDF?
Initial thumbnail loading takes 10–20 seconds for very long documents. After that, drag-and-drop is fast. For purely structural changes (\"move pages 47–52 to the end\") where you don't need visual inspection, Split + Merge is a faster two-step alternative.
